Our Highest Priority
Health & Safety is our number one priority and we work diligently to ensure that all of our operations are safe and adequately planned, all of our facilities meet the highest safety standards and all of our buildings are fully compliant to all health and safety regulations.
Protecting Our Workers
It is our responsibility to ensure that every person who works for ESS Modular returns home safely at the end of the working day. On site and in our manufacturing facilities we have established a successful hazard reporting system and run worker engagement programmes including toolbox talks, site safety meetings, and company-wide Health & Safety newsletters.
iAuditor App
Formal Health and Safety Inspections are completed on a weekly basis by the in-house Health and Safety Manager using the iAuditor app which allows for detailed inspections on site, complete with photos. These reports are immediately circulated to the project team and contractors. We also use the services of independent Health and Safety inspectors to complete thorough safety inspections and to provide competent and impartial advice.
Zero Incident Ambition
A major goal on all of our projects is to have zero incidents occur for the duration of the project. Any accidents or near misses that occur are thoroughly investigated to establish the root cause and put measures in place to prevent a recurrence.
Training
Training is of critical importance in maintaining a safe workforce and we use regular structured courses and toolbox talks to reinforce this message. CSCS compliance is a minimum requirement of every site.
Protecting the Public
We establish excellent welfare facilities for all staff, subcontractors and visitors on every site. As many of the projects that we deliver are within live educational and healthcare environments, we have developed robust systems to ensure the safety of members of the public and minimise any possible disruptions and all of our site management team hold enhanced DBS clearance.
Certifications
Our integrated management system has ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certification, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification and ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System Certification. We are also certified to such standards as CHAS and Constructionline which ensure that our Health & Safety systems are regularly audited, ensuring we operate as a conscientious and responsible company, committed to the prevention of accidents or ill-health from our operations.
